Did you know that Alicante is one of the most mountainous provinces in Spain with an annual average temperature of 18ºC and more than 300 days of sunshine a year? A paradise for cycling enthusiasts.
Alicante offers much more than sun and beach. Here you will find routes adapted to all levels, as well as special category mountain passes for the most demanding. Some of them have been great protagonists of La Vuelta a España, such as:
- Alto de Aitana with 18 km of ascent and a maximum gradient of 9.5%.
- Port de Tudons with 12 km of ascent and a maximum gradient of 11%.
- Xorret del Catí with 4 km of ascent and a maximum gradient that reaches up to 22%. Only suitable for the most prepared!
Golf in Altea
The Altea Club de Golf is one of the few clubs in the area that is owned by its members, but still welcomes visitors to play the course at any time, subject to availability.
Members are of many nationalities, including Spanish, English, Dutch, German and Scandinavian to name but a few, and there are many golf groups (associations) for new members to join.
It is therefore perfect for those who want to enjoy both the fellowship and the golf.
